IRIDOLOGY & TERRAIN MAPPING — lightly edited
Iridology & Terrain Mapping
Iridology and terrain mapping offer a way of understanding health that looks beneath symptoms and diagnoses, toward the conditions in which illness arises — and in which healing becomes possible.
This is not about prediction or labelling. It is about recognising patterns, capacity and direction.
Who this is particularly helpful for
People with ongoing digestive, skin, immune or inflammatory issues; those who feel sensitive, reactive or easily overwhelmed by supplements or stress; people recovering from illness, burnout, surgery or emotional strain; anyone who senses their health story is bigger than a single diagnosis, and wants a deeper understanding of what their body is actually doing.
What is iridology?
Iridology is the study of the iris — the coloured part of the eye — as a reflection of constitutional strengths, susceptibilities and long-term stress patterns within the body.
Each iris is as unique as a fingerprint. It does not show disease, but it can reveal areas of resilience and inherited vitality; where the body tends to hold stress or inflammation; patterns relating to digestion, elimination, liver function, immunity and the nervous system; and how life experiences and emotional load may be imprinting on the body over time.
Iridology gives us a map, not a verdict — helping us understand how your system responds, rather than focusing only on what is going wrong.
What do we mean by terrain?
Terrain refers to the internal environment of the body — the soil in which health or illness develops.
Rather than asking what the diagnosis is, terrain mapping asks whether the system is depleted or over-stimulated; hot, cold, dry or congested; reactive or sluggish; resilient, or running on empty.
By understanding terrain, we can make sense of why certain symptoms keep returning, why some treatments have not helped, and what your body actually needs in order to repair.
Why combine iridology and terrain mapping?
Together, they allow us to see the long view of your health rather than just the current flare; distinguish between root causes and secondary symptoms; work with your constitution rather than against it; and choose herbal and lifestyle support that your system can genuinely tolerate and respond to.
What happens in a session?
During your consultation we take high-quality images of the irises. I explain what I see in clear, grounded language, and we explore how these patterns connect with your symptoms, history and current life pressures. We identify healing priorities — not everything at once, but what matters most now.
After your session you receive a detailed written report explaining your constitution and terrain, clear insights into physical and emotional patterns, practical guidance to support recovery, and optional personalised herbal recommendations.
Nothing is rushed. Questions are welcome. Understanding is part of the medicine.
What this approach is — and is not
It is observational and interpretive, constitution-led and preventative, and supportive of medical care rather than opposed to it. It is grounded in herbal tradition, modern insight and clinical experience.
It is not diagnostic in a medical sense, predictive or deterministic, or a substitute for medical investigation when that is needed.
Working with this information
An iridology and terrain mapping session can stand alone as a single insight consultation, or become the foundation for longer-term herbal support through the Deep Reset or Annual Plan.
